Shaping the De La Warr Pavilion’s digital vision for the future

Client: De La Warr Pavilion
Services: Strategic digital consultation, Team resource planning & development

As part of the organisations £48.6m “Transforming Heritage: Community, Creativity and Skills” project, I worked as Digital Consultant for the iconic Grade I-listed De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-on-Sea during the Discovery phase of their National Lottery Heritage Fund application.

My brief was to shape the digital vision for the next chapter of the Pavilion’s story, preserving its heritage while making it accessible and engaging for wider, more diverse audiences. Working alongside staff, other consultants, and the DLWP’s audiences, I created a roadmap for digital transformation that will underpin the Pavilion’s redevelopment through to 2028.

What I delivered

  • A comprehensive digital review of systems, platforms and processes

  • A new digital mission and strategy rooted in inclusion, heritage and organisational resilience

  • Detailed recommendations for website redevelopment, content, data management, ways of work, team collaboration, customer service, and more.

  • A future-scoping framework to support innovation, skills development and digital sustainability

  • A programme of digital engagement aligned with National Lottery Heritage Fund goals

  • A brief for a new website and a new Digital Engagement Manager role

The result is a clear, practical plan for how the Pavilion can embed digital across every part of its operation, connecting its remarkable past with a more inclusive, creative future.
